JT`s Bourbon Street Food & Restaurant in Fredericksburg

I place my order based off the 4 stars I’ve seen online. I purchased a catfish po boy with fries. All though the fries seemed homemade. They were very soggy and slightly uncooked. The lettuce placed on my sandwich was withered and mostly brown!!!! The fish had zero seasoning. I’m honestly disgusted... I don’t generally write reviews but this needed to be said.

This restaurant is really a hidden gem! The food is delicious and the staff is fantastic, they really make you feel likethey have known you for years :) The two folks I came here with both got the pulled pork sandwich and said it was 10/10, I got the blackened catfish that was superb. Can't wait to come back when I am in the area!

Small family run place that specializes in New Orleans style seafood, especially catfish. Better than average beer list. Good prices and service.

Need to stop selling oxtail. Rice and peas are a version than original rice and peas, ox tails has fat on them.

The food smelled and looked good, my mouth was literally watering as I was unpacking it. But.... It lacked flavor! I had to add the whole damn seasoning rack just to enjoy it. The Gumbo was the most disappointing thing, then the fish and yams.

Best fried green tomatoes and fried catfish I've had since my grandmother died, God rest her soul. Friendly service, food hot and fresh and delicious.

The food was terrible it was late they try just for making a substitute the prices would change from the menu that was online I will never go to this restaurant again

My family and I ordered from this small dirty restaurant 2 weeks ago....we ordered; Fish and shrimp:Mac and cheese dryOnly got 2 extremely small pieces of fishSteam pot:Potatoes were not done they were hard as rocks and cold, and had rotten spots on themCorn coldShrimp dirtyOnly like 3 pieces of sausage Shrimp Po Boy:Sloppy with lump fries I have called a total of 4 times and asked for either a manager or a owner and told each time the owner just left or Isn’t in and will return my call which she never has returned my call. I still have my receipt we spent over $50 for this mess and Using covid-19 is not an excuse for my whole meal after waiting 1 hour and 25 minutes for it to be given to us cold and and undone.......

I went here yesterday evening to get me a birthday dinner and had less then stellar service. There was a young lady who worked there, sleeping at the front table. They were also watching a YouTube videos on the main TV of a woman pranking her boyfriend and doing a lot of cussing. The floors were sticky and we witnessed the cook handling our food with his bare hands in the kitchen. As far as the quality of the food... there were none!!! The gumbo was made like a soup, the catfish was over cooked on the outside and undercooked on the inside, and the mac and cheese had 0 flavor. I will most definitely not be returning here. There is a way better Cajun restaurant on the other side of Fredricksburg that I will be taking our business to.

The best blackened catfish I've ever eaten. I had to slam on my brakes as I almost drove right passed the small restaurant tucked off the highway but it was worth the stop. While passing through Fredericksburg I'd Googled "blackened catfish in Fredericksburg" and JT's was on my route; I'll make a special trip back just to eat here again. My former mother-in-law used to cook blackened catfish and it is what I miss most from that marriage--JT's blackened catfish is even better.

This is a hidden jewel in Fredericksburg. Excellent blackened catfish and greens. Best Southern/ Cajun food around. Small venue but great food. Staff are always friendly and there is a all you can eat buffet on Friday night!

I enjoy coming here twice a week to eat and have a drink while my son is at soccer training. The 2 ladies that I have met that run the front counter are extremely nice in helpful when deciding what to eat. Their catfish is amazing and so is there gumbo I highly recommend.

Had a wonderful time. Wendy the waitress was so attentive and friendly! My food was spectacular and the ribs were fall off the bone. Highly recommend!

Amazing food!!! How is this place not packed!? We got the all you can eat catfish for $10.95 (sides also refillable) and the oyster and shrimp po’boy and both were AMAZING!!!

I've been to this establishment many times. I literally drive from out of town just to eat here (45 minute commute.) The food is pretty good; I cannot take that away from them. My husband and I love their fried wings and we also order the seafood gumbo which is pretty tasty. I gave this restaurant 2 stars simply because of the customer service. It is the worst! We've had items missing from our order, one of the cashiers were literally high and nodding off when we picked up our order. There is no warm and inviting presence when you enter into this establishment or pleasant tone when you call to place an order. To make matters worse, their hours are inconsistent! They sometimes close earlier then listed on google and their FRONT DOOR! Don't even get me started on the day we came down on a Wednesday and they were closed. When we asked why, no explanation was given... Mkay. At this point, I think we may not return... the food is pretty good but I'd rather spend my money where its valued.

Loved the Catfish and red beans and rice. Very nice server and friendly staff. Only reason for 4 and not 5 stars is the place needs a major refurb.

I had the seafood gumbo,catfish plantains and mac and cheese. All were good especially the gumbo. Service was a little slow kind of like when you travel to the islands. I would definitely go back and eat in if I'm not in a big hurry or call a order in.

All their poboys are delicious. Their deep fried mushrooms are some of the best in Fredericksburg.

They are unproffessional and it took them over a month to refund our money from a vehicle they sold and didn’t belong to them. Once they paid Instead of paying us the whole amount they paid a fraction. And told us not to cash the check till Friday! I would take them to court but I can clearly see they need the money more then we do.

Great small town place with excellent homemade food, good prices and where you feel like family. The all you can eat catfish is superb. If you're looking for fried catfish and genuine soul food, this is the place!

Food quality is not consistent, service could be better, more responsive and enthusiastic.I’ve ordered the Gumbo from here (3) times.First time I ordered the “large” which was a meal for honestly 2 people at $15.00.Second time I ordered the small, which is about enough for a 10 year old to eat but came with a crab nuckle of reasonable size.They don’t offer a medium size.....they should.Today I ordered the same gumbo but it was gummy and I didn’t receive a crab nuckle. I asked why not and was told that the crab cluster is only offered with the large dinner portion......strange because I never received one the first time I ordered the dinner portion.When asked if I could PAY for a crab nuckle, the young lady seemed not interested in selling it to me.

This place is deep in the cut. If you don't have navigation guiding you.. forget about finding it. Aside from the location, the food was good - not great but good. The server that waited on us was A-mazing!!! So kind and friendly. The prices were not bad either. Also they deliver and cater.

I got 3 meals, spent $50.00 on THREE MEALS. A burger & fries, a fish platter & a 4 shrimp & oyster meal. A side of potatoe salad! $50.00!!!! All of the portions were kid size, if that. Everything was cold and I live maybe 5 mins away. Side corners were half full if that. The mac & cheese tasted like kraft! The cabbage option was the hard pieces from the root that should be thrown away. No seasoning, no love, just trash! Potatoe salad was watery & potatoes were hard. Called to request a refund & give them their meals back. Unfortunately they were closed. Absolutely disappointed & will NEVER waste another dollar on that! GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!

The food was amazing! The pulled pork was so tender and their homemade sauces can't be beat. Definitely will stop again. You don't want to miss this place!

This place is fabulous! We got the all you can eat catfish, which also comes with 2 sides. The catfish was delicious! For $11 it’s a great deal. The owners and their daughter were there and socialized with us. They were also prompt in bringing out more catfish. We definitely plan to return.

Ordered via GrubHub. After 1.5 hour delivery window passed I called to ask why my order hadn't arrived. They apologized and said it would be here in 20 minutes. After 20 minutes I called again, because my order hadn't arrived yet. They said my order hadn't left yet. So I asked to cancel my order and for a refund, because it had taken too long (2 hours), and they hung up on me. I had to call GrubHub for my refund. As bad an ordering experience as you can get.

The food is good and that's the only reason I'll be back. On a Saturday night, their server, Janelle, was inattentive, slow, and never glanced our way, to the point where I had to go to the counter to ask for a refill. The food is good, though, and their iced tea is fresh and real. Their mac and cheese was amazing, their greens were good and the ribs just fell off the bone.

We ordered tonight for the first time and did not regret it! The fried shrimp basket, burgers and crab mac n cheese were delicious! We will be ordering again!

My wife and I had a late lunch, around 1:30, so the place was quiet. Service was excellent. Wife loved the catfish plate, and I enjoyed a Carolina BBQ sandwich. Plenty of food, fair prices.

HANDS DOWN!!! The BEST blackened catfish you'll ever have!! My husband doesn't care for fish but LOVES JT's catfish!! Friday night's and Sundays are all-you-can-eat catfish days for $10.95!!! MUST TRY!!!

Found this little spot last night, we enjoyed everything! We order chargrill oysters, fried seafood patters with greens, red beans & rice and Mac Cheese.... Food was very fresh and HOT! Tasty and pleasing! Service was excellent. We enjoyed talking with Wendy and even the Owner Lamont came out to greet us, we felt right at home!! Please go and enjoy the delicious food and enjoy the LIVE MUSIC too! We'll be back again, for sure!!!

We came by at 2:59 on a Sunday. It says on Google that you guys were open. A little disappointed, the food looked good. Just wished the hours would've been updated, not the easiest place to pull into towing a car. Maybe in the future we can stop back by and they be open.

Interesting little spot, easy to miss but on Plank Road. One of the few places that still serves some good home-cooked food. Fried fish and seafood, Cajun inspired fare. I went for the all you can eat catfish and was a tad disappointed with it being catfish fingers versus the filet. Pretty long wait (30+ minutes)for all you can eat which typically you would have a buffet and eat immediately. At least it was cooked to order. The fries were tasty but a tad greasy. They were nice enough to substitute that for some mac and cheese which was pretty decent. The catfish was very fresh, and hot, I would love to see if they serve fillets on Friday. I rarely ever eat catfish, but had to try an AYCE fish joint. Very modest spot and they do the best they can to take care their customers, and make sure that they are satisfied. I will probably have to try them again soon

This place is not good at all my sister swore by it so I tried it got oxtails that had no seasoning cabbage that had to much vinegar and no seasoning and the beans and rice which had no seasoning basically it was horrible but hey My sisters food was good but mines was a no go

Food was delicious! If you not paying attention you will drive pass it, but it’s definitely worth circling the block & go back to it. My gumbo & catfish nuggets was banging.... but nothing tops them char grilled oysters OMG!!!! I could eat them all night. Drinks are a bit expensive... but this will be my go to place when I’m in the area.
